RKGITM was previously called RKGITW, established in 2008. The earlier institute focused on technical education for women based on the philosophy "Teach a girl, Teach a family." RKGITW received awards for its performance in women's education. Starting in the 2016-17 academic session, it was converted from a women-only institute to a co-educational institute called RKGITM. This change was made to align with globalization and gender equality principles.
RKGITM aims to provide high-quality, inclusive education by nurturing well-rounded individuals while bridging academia and industry. It offers three 4-year undergraduate programs after 10+2 or diploma – Computer Science Engineering with an intake of 180 students, Electronics & Communication Engineering with 60 seats, and Information Technology with 60 seats.
The institute has a modern campus with academic facilities like classrooms, labs, library and residential amenities like hostels, canteen, medical aid and transport. The infrastructure supports an enriching educational experience for students. RKGITM continues expanding and improving to pursue excellence across domains.
