PM Modi Inaugurates New IIM Jammu Campus, Marking Milestone For World-Class Management Education

 On a momentous occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the new campus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu at Jagti. The unveiling of the state-of-the-art facilities marks a significant stride towards promoting global excellence in management education and societal transformation.

 
Established in 2016 by the Ministry of Education, IIM Jammu has rapidly risen in stature, nurturing business leaders and fostering innovation. The new 200-acre campus, constructed at a cost of Rs 500.91 crore, boasts cutting-edge infrastructure, including smart classrooms and the modern Nalanda library.
 
During the ceremony, PM Modi was joined by dignitaries including Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, Manoj Sinha, Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, and Members of Parliament. A short film showcasing the "Making of IIM Jammu: Brick by Brick" was screened, highlighting the institute's journey.
 
Despite being the youngest among IIMs, Jammu has already ranked 15th in the NIRF Rankings 2023.
 
Dr. Milind K Kamble, Chairman of the Board of Governors, praised the collaborative efforts with Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to propel IIM Jammu into the top ten B-schools nationwide. He reassured the institute's dedication to academic brilliance and world-class infrastructure.
 
The inauguration ceremony featured ceremonial lamp lighting, a rendition of Saraswati Vandana, and the felicitation of key stakeholders, including the Forest Department of J&K and the Department of Higher Education. A vibrant cultural program by the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages added exuberance to the occasion.
