 In a significant leap towards fostering global academic partnerships, the Higher School of Economics (HSE) - St. Petersburg has joined hands with the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) to embark on collaborative research projects. The agreement encompasses various domains, including social, political, and humanitarian studies, as well as cutting-edge data analysis for master's students. This strategic collaboration is set to open new avenues for academic exploration and cultural exchange between the two institutions.


Joint Research Initiatives
 
The collaborative efforts, spearheaded by the St. Petersburg School of Social Sciences at HSE, aim to delve into areas such as sustainable development, youth studies, social and environmental sociology, anthropology, and digital social sciences and humanities. Both institutions are committed to fostering an environment conducive to joint research seminars, summer schools, internships, and an exchange of ideas between students and faculty members.
 
During a visit to IIT Delhi, Dean of the St. Petersburg School of Social Sciences, Alexander Sorokin, highlighted the multifaceted nature of the collaboration. He emphasized the significance of joint projects in digital social sciences and humanities, fostering student and teacher mobility, and the potential for mutual enrichment through diverse research avenues.
 
As a testament to the commitment to knowledge sharing, HSE Professor Daniil Aleksandrov delivered a lecture at IIT Delhi on "Women in STEM," shedding light on gender segregation in education. Mirror Laboratory with IIMI
 
In another groundbreaking development, HSE and the Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIMI) have agreed to establish a mirror laboratory, marking the first initiative of its kind in the history of Russian-Indian relations. Focused on nature conservation, environmental behavior, sustainable development, and regional branding, the laboratory aims to address global challenges through collaborative efforts.
 
The laboratory, operating in a network format, will facilitate interdisciplinary research involving various HSE departments, including the School of Design. Alexander Sorokin, the project manager from the Russian side, expressed enthusiasm about the high interest in environmental and social well-being globally, reinforcing the significance of the joint initiative.
 
Additional Areas of Collaboration
 
Apart from environmental and social well-being, HSE and IIMI will collaborate in other vital areas such as tourism management, sustainable development, educational cooperation, and the study of mechanisms surrounding the spread of misinformation.
